Netball

The WhatsApp bot for netball coaches: training RSVPs and attendance

Netball clubs run training through the week and a game at the weekend, and both depend on knowing who is available. Pitchside sends the session in WhatsApp, collects a reply from every family, and keeps a list a coach can check on the way to the court.

20 coaches get 30 days free, with no card and one coach phone. The trial page checks how many places are left.

You message the bot first. It never adds anyone to a group chat.

Example conversation
  • Coach

U13 training Wednesday 5pm at the court. Shooting and defence drills, 60 minutes.

  • Pitchside

Sent to 12 families. 7 in so far.

  • Parent

    Yes - Ava

  • Pitchside

Noted. Ava is in for training.

An example of the messages, not a real club.

The two messages a netball week needs

Training goes out with the time and the court. Game day goes out with the venue, the start time and any note a coach wants to sort early. Each message is written and sent by the bot, so a coach does not retype the same details every week.

Filling a team before the match

A netball side is only seven on court, so a coach wants the numbers before the day rather than at the venue.

  • Send training or the game to the team in one message.
  • Watch the replies come in against each family.
  • See who has not answered and send one nudge, not five.
  • Check the count before you leave for the court.

Reply, then attendance, kept apart

The bot records what a family says, and the coach records what actually happened. A parent replying yes is intent; marking a player present after training is attendance. The two lists do not overwrite each other, so the record stays honest.

Running the squad without a second app

A coach starts by messaging the bot and setting up the team, and families reply in WhatsApp on the phone they already carry. Nothing is installed for a parent, and the bot never adds anyone to a group chat.

Questions coaches ask

Do parents need another app for netball team admin?

No. Families answer in WhatsApp and never make a Pitchside account, so nothing new is installed on a parent's phone.

Can a coach send training and the weekend game together?

They are sent as separate messages, each with its own time and replies, because training and a match are different commitments for a family.

How does the free trial work?

The founder test gives 20 coaches thirty days of the bot free with no card. Standard signup is separate and carries its own 7-day trial.
