The WhatsApp bot for rugby coaches: training RSVPs and attendance
A rugby squad is big enough that chasing replies is a job on its own. Pitchside sends the session in WhatsApp, takes a yes or no from each family, and keeps the squad list and the attendance record together.
20 coaches get 30 days free, with no card and one coach phone. The trial page checks how many places are left.
You message the bot first. It never adds anyone to a group chat.

Training and match day in one squad
Training goes out midweek with the time, the pitch and how long the session runs. The match message goes out with the venue, the kick-off and any travel note. The bot writes each one and sends it to the squad, so a coach is not rebuilding the same message.
Numbers matter before a rugby session
A coach plans drills around how many players are turning up, and a front row cannot be made up on the spot.
- Send the session to the whole squad from one message.
- Read the replies against each family as they arrive.
- See who is yet to answer and nudge them once.
- Check the count before you plan the session or leave for the pitch.
An RSVP is not an attendance record
A reply tells a coach what a family intends, and a coach still marks who trained. The bot keeps those apart: replies collect before the session, and the attendance list is filled in after it, by the coach.
Starting without a club account
A coach messages the bot, names the squad, and sends the first session from there. Families reply in WhatsApp, there is no separate club login for parents, and no second app for players to check.
See how the WhatsApp bot runs a sessionQuestions coaches ask
Does a rugby squad need a team management app as well?
No. The bot sends the session and collects the replies in WhatsApp, and parents do not download anything or create an account.
Can the coach see who has not replied?
Yes. The reply list shows the families still to answer, so a coach sends one nudge to those rather than messaging the whole squad again.
Is there a free trial for rugby coaches?
The founder test offers 20 coaches thirty days free with no card. If those places are gone, the bot itself still comes with its own 7-day trial.
